Terms & Conditions

Plain terms for a simple product: downloadable guides you buy once and keep.

Last updated 23 September 2026

Who you are contracting with

SecondNature is operated by Ashlie Hempstead (“SecondNature”, “we”, “us”). When you buy a guide or use this website, you are entering an agreement with Ashlie Hempstead on these terms.

Acceptance

By using this website or purchasing a guide you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or buy the products. Continued use after an update means you accept the updated terms.

What you are buying

Each SecondNature Quick Start Guide is a digital PDF delivered as an instant download after payment. There is no physical product, no subscription, and no ongoing service to cancel.

You must be of legal age to make a purchase, or have authority to bind the organisation buying on your behalf, and the details you give at checkout must be accurate.

Your licence to use the guides

You get a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to read, print, and use your copy of a guide for your own learning — including at your own job.

  • Please do not resell, redistribute, share, or republish the files.
  • Please do not use the guides as course material for paid training without written permission.
  • Code examples inside a guide are yours to use freely in your own projects.

Intellectual property

All text, illustrations, layouts, branding, logos, and the SecondNature name remain the property of Ashlie Hempstead. Buying a guide does not transfer ownership of any of it.

Acceptable use

  • No unlawful use of the site or the guides.
  • No fraud, spam, or misrepresentation.
  • No infringement of our or anyone else's rights.
  • No interference with the site's security — no malware, probing, scraping, or attempts to bypass access controls.

Payments, tax, and billing

Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.

Payment, billing, tax, and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms. Our own refund commitment is set out on the refund policy page.

Service level

We aim to keep the site and downloads available, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted or error-free performance. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the guides and the site are provided without implied warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. The guides are educational material, not professional advice.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or end your access for material breach of these terms, non-payment or a reversed payment, suspected fraud or a security risk, or repeated or serious policy violations.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from your purchase is limited to the amount you paid for the guide in question in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits, data, or goodwill. Nothing here excludes liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by negligence.

Governing law and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which the seller resides, and disputes will be handled by the courts of that jurisdiction. We may update these terms from time to time; the “last updated” date above will change when we do.
